The antenna determines the depth and resolution that can be attained. Shallower depths yield higher resolutions. Choose the right antenna for your applications.

500 MHz500 mhz Antenna

The 500 MHz antenna is the most popular antenna offering:

  • Depth penetration to satisfy the widest range of applications, up to 16 ft. (4.8 m) in good conditions
  • Resolution capable of detecting previous excavations and soil disturbances in most underground locating soil conditions, pipes and or cables large and small, reinforcing, rocks, structures, soil changes…the most versatile of all antennas.

250 MHz250 mhz Antenna

The 250 MHz antenna typically triples the depth penetration of the 500 MHz antenna up to 45 ft. (13.5 m). The coarser resolution and greater depth capability of the 250 MHz antenna makes it more ideally suited for searches for larger targets, such as large pipes and bedrock. Geophysical applications include detection of soil changes, deep or large voids, caves and subsurface structures.

The 1000 MHz or 1GHz antenna offers high resolution at limited depths (to 6 ft., 1.5 m). For applications such as concrete and structural analysis, including both rebar and wire mesh, voids, conduits and pipes in floors. This antenna is ideal for law enforcement applications such as detection of explosives or hidden objects/caches in walls and structures.
